I volunteered for this service What were the mental and physical effects of your army experience on yourself? Mental: The undue subordination of the individual to the machine and the tendency to brutalize the soldier in some degree created resentment. Physical: Beneficial but not appreciable as I had always engaged in various sports. What elements of your college life and work were most valuable to you in service? I hardly know as my service was so short. Perhaps ability to see beyond the temporary inconvenience and the necessary evil What is your present feeling regarding universal military training, etc.? Strongly opposed to it in any form especially in schools and colleges If you took part in the fighting, what impressions were made upon you by this experience?
