We engaged in trans-Atlantic escort duty from July until December 1918 during which time we (?) an (?) (?) in the English Channel and off the French coast. Engaged until German submarine off the (?) (?) (?) Sept. 1918 when the transport P(?) was torpedoed. On 17 Sept. 1918 rescued 146 sur- vivors of the S.S. Tasman torpedoed by Ger- man submarine and landed them at Brest, France. Returned from Brest, France to New York on December 15, 1918 after very rough passage, considerable damage having been done to the ship, necessitating her going into D(?) (?). Went south to A(?) in January 1919 and was (?) to sail in 4th March 1919 to escort President Wilson to France. Returned to Cuba on 1 April 1919.
