Rachel Alexandra Mondshine (2021): All Day Suckers (Image # 001)
“All Day Suckers” is a satirical celebration of all things achingly sweet. Often referencing themes of female adolescence and coming of age, the work explores the conflicting relationship between growing up and letting go through material processes. This idea of becoming grounds the work in questions of process, play, and pretending. The contrasting themes of nostalgia and growth serve as a point of departure for the investigation of representation and visual language.
