Edges Meet is an exhibition which explores all the ways in which domestic space can be represented through drawing, tapping into a collective consciousness of what can be understood as "home." Through experimentation with color, mark-making, and layering, I connect drawings in unexpected ways, collaging my interpretation of the physical spaces that have been meaningful to me over time. While the work is intimate and personal, spaces are rendered with a certain level of ambiguity such that a viewer is able to find something familiar in the work. Simultaneously, I have installed my drawings on structures that mimic my thesis studio––yet another domestic space––to create a particular physical experience for the viewer. During my working process, my drawings began responding to the existing architecture of my studio in specific ways. When this is reiterated in a new gallery space, private, domestic space is suddenly represented in a public manner.
