This thesis¬¬¬ “De Donde Sos?”: The Impossible Fact Union of Blackness andin Argentinidad” explores the cultural and spatial politics of Black identities in the city of Buenos Aires. More specifically, I consider the ways that Argentina’s identity, as the Latin American exception—racially white and European—is actually a product of the nationalist race ideology blanqueamiento.
