Over the summer before sixth grade, Reese Dechert has experienced some changes of which she’s not yet completely aware. Although Reese has typically flown under the radar socially, her new body catches the attention of the popular girls along with most of the boys in her grade. While Reese is excited to finally be in the spotlight, she must also reorient herself to her newfound womanhood, with which comes humiliation, sexual objectification, and isolation. In order to not lose herself in the quest for peer validation, Reese must learn that she doesn’t have to squeeze into the mold prescribed for her.
