Living in possibly the most passive-aggressive place on earth, Lola (21) seeks money to remain free from her mother’s grasp. On the way to her regular babysitting gig for the children of suburbanites Shelby and Rex, Lola is introduced to a job prospect at RHONDA, a place that promises women an oasis for the tribulations of motherhood. Upon reading Shelby’s diary, Lola learns of her deep dissatisfaction and enlists her, and Shelby’s pregnant sister-in-law, Freya, to join RHONDA, too. But, while Lola’s life starts caving in, RHONDA reveals her darker colors. Plain to see are the advantages and limits of good ol’ midwestern values.
