A Virtual Village is a digital project that was originally created by Peter Gottschalk and Matthew Schmalz in 2007. The project recreates life in a fictionalized Indian village in the northeastern state of Bihar titled Arampur. The content of A Virtual Village includes photographics, panoramic views, videos, and audio that document everyday life in this village. The project has taken several forms since its foundation in 2007. This collection housed by the Wesleyan University Library contains an archive of multimedia files and associated metadata from the project.
